About

Design, with opinions.

Design Takes is a Markdown-based blog about design — industrial, graphic, and digital product design — written for people who care how things are made. No trend roundups, no sponsored hot takes. Just arguments, made in public, that you're welcome to push back on.

It's open source and static: every post is a plain .md file, rendered once and served from the edge. Discussion happens on GitHub, and the responses worth keeping are curated back into each post. The whole thing is fast, accessible, and free to fork.

Who writes this

  • Nuno Loureiro

Nuno Loureiro is a product designer based in Lisbon with 25 years of experience across industrial design, 3D, and digital products. He has led design at some of Portugal's most ambitious companies, co-founded Bright Pixel, and currently works as Lead Product Designer at the Ethereum Foundation. He believes design should be opinionated, human, and impossible to ignore. Design Takes is where he puts that into words.
